As an altoholic and recipe hound, I have a lot of addons installed to make my life easier. CT-mod forms a great deal of my UI, Recount for my personal knowledge of how well I'm doing in groups, Omen threat meter to know when to back the fuck off on my DPS so the mob doesn't decide that I'm a tastier target than the tank.
However, Ackis Recipe List has recently made opening my profession books kinda....agonizing. With addons turned off, it's instant. With Ackis and ProfessionsBook turned on, it can take a few MINUTES to load my alchemy book when I'm trying to do my daily transmute.
I finally decided to find out what the problem was, and with a little googling, I determined that deleting my WTF and cache folders would probably be a good idea. I did it, and it made a world of difference.
So if you ever have a problem of lagging while checking your professions, try deleting the WTF and cache folders.
P.S. You might want to make a copy of the two folders on your desktop first, just in case.

WWGD – What Would Gevlon Do?

I’ve been reading Gevlon’s blog for a bit now, and I’m wondering what Gevlon would have to comment on about getting recipes for professions other than Inscription. Would it be worthwhile to a goblin to pay gold for recipes, instead of farming them themselves? Also, would it be worth getting all recipes for that profession, no matter if they were moneymakers?
From a goblinish standpoint, the trick is to get rare, midlevel recipes that few other people on the server have, or make trainer taught items that require quite a few different mats. For example, the Helm of Fire will cost me about 15-20 gold in mats, but can be sold for 60-65 gold easily. It’s a great helm for its level, and even though it’s leather, I’m using it on a few of my paladins and warriors around that level, just because of the high agility (crit) and awesome fire burst damage every five minutes (great for a PvP server). Add to that all the rogues, hunters, druids, and enhancement shamans, and you have a wide market base. You just have to market it effectively, and don’t flood the auction house. Post one at a time.
Farm World Dragons, if you can. The recipes they drop are very rare, like the Lifelike Mechanical Toad and the Radiant Belt.
I also am a sucker for recipes. All of them. If it’s a dropped recipe, it’s a decent price, and I don’t have it…….sold. That means less time that I would have to spend bored out of my mind, mindlessly killing the same mobs over and over again, cursing Blizzard for making recipes have such a low drop rate. Case in point: Pattern: Stormshroud Armor. When I finally got Tsuris to level 35, and powerleveled LW to 300, I noticed this high crit/dodge armor set, perfect for feral druids or rogues. The pants recipe is vendor bought, and the gloves and shoulders are usually readily available on the AH, but the armor…….the armor……
I ground the Arkkoran Oracles in Azshara for 3+ hours on Daggerspine to get the recipe, and then decided to do the same on Demon Soul. Another 4 hours of grinding, an almost infinite amount of zesty clam meat from the clams they drop, and Kukoshakaku had his own recipe. And on Darrowmere, it dropped for me on the AH, for a mere 10 gold. Aaaarrrrggggh!!!
Since I've gotten to Outlands, and have started to replace my 50's blues and epics with Outland greens, I've come to this conclusion: Don't kill yourself. Unless the recipe is for stuff below level 59 that a twink could wear, don't spend a lot of time or gold trying to get the recipes (this applies to Blacksmithing/Tailoring/Leatherworking recipes). If it drops, or if it's cheap on the AH, get the recipe. But after having the Arcanite Champion recipe learned for for months, and finally getting my warrior Bullkathos high enough to use it, and spending 150+ gold on mats even after I had Bloodshrike make the Arcanite Bars..... then replacing it with Fel Iron Hatchets at level 61 with Fel Iron Greatsword right around the corner.....Priceless. Granted, I'll still use it when I'm just doing some grinding for quests, but as soon as I hit 63, that's going in the bank.
Finish – I’m not trolling for comments from Gevlon, or flaming him, or anything like that. I just came up with the headline, and had to write something to match it.

Shield Spike, Shield Spike - Gone

Sonuva!!!! The Thorium Shield Spike recipe was on the AH on Darrowmere, Horde side, and I wasn’t able to get it!!! The seller had put it in there with bid only, and I was at work when it went to short time length. I had checked it that morning with Clockwrkmage, and it was on long status, with my bid of 20g still being current. Ah well, it will pop up again, probably long before I get Wartraveler to level 35. Currently, I’ve gotten Bloodshrike (hunter) to 23, Clockwrkmage to 20, Psilentkill to 20, Wartraveler to 20, Didactylos to 16, and Misericorde to 15 or 16.
Not bad for only playing them for the past few weekends, and having them sit at level 10 for a very long time. The well-rested XP and the increased quest XP is really doing a lot to level you faster these days. A lot of my quests in the Ghostlands go green before I’ve had a chance to go over and do them, so …..I’ve stopped doing them. I’m going to bring the rest of my toons over from Silvermoon, after they’ve each run to get the flightpoints in Tranquillien and Zul’Aman (which I didn’t know about for the past year!!). Then, bring them over to the Barrens, and start leveling them up there.

Ha HAH! Yesssss! I’ve been using my friends account to check the opposite factions AH for bargains on mats I need/use, and to check for recipes. More specifically, I’ve checking for the Steel Weapon chain and the Thorium Shield spike recipe, for both Daggerspine and Darrowmere. I got the Weapon Chain recipe a while back for both of those accounts, and last night I finally got it for Daggerspine! I had been transferring over the 12 Alliance cooking recipes for this horde toon to sell on the AH for about 8-10 gold each (the whole 12 set costs about 1g total from the vendor), in preparation for the no doubt hefty price tag on this ultra rare recipe. So, I go onto the AH in Daggerspine, do my usual search for Shield Spike, and lo and behold, it pops up. Not only that, I had to do a double take, because it was only 10g. 10 G!!!!!!!!! I probably would have paid at least 300-500g for the recipe, not only because the usefulness and saleability of the item it creates, but because you can learn the recipe at level 275 blacksmithing, and use it to level all the way up to and past level 300.
Bullkathos, on Demon Soul, has both the weapon chain and thorium shield spike, and after the Arcanite Rod recipe went green/gray at like 285, I wasn’t planning on leveling BS anymore until I got my toons to higher levels. Well, I was doing my usual recipe search with the useful checkmark checked (the one right by the search button), and since I didn’t know the recipe, it popped up for me. It was listed at like 60 gold, but even at that time, that was a drop in the bucket. It has saved me so many Thorium bars, it’s not even funny. Not only that, most of the stuff I made up to that point were kinda worthless Thorium armor, which I don’t think anyone really pays for, so I just had my enchanter DE them. At a 12+ stack of thorium for each thorium recipe piece, that’s a big waste, considering I bought all of them off the AH.
But enough about Bullkathos. Now that I have this on Daggerspine, I can continue powerleveling Panzergishi’s blacksmithing, since I left it at 260. I checked thottbot, and it looks like the Mithril Order recipes stop leveling you at around 260 anyways, so there’s no point in me waiting until level 40 when I do those quests to finish powerleveling BS. I’ll get it done now, and hopefully I’ll be able to find the Ornate mithril items on the AH for cheap, because it’s already an investment of a ton of mithril bars to just do the Galvan the Ancient quests.
Man, I can’t wait to play tonight. I spent most of last night transferring stuff over between each of the accounts, and when you’re paranoid like me, I only put 1-2 auctions up at the same time, then quickly turn to my other computer and bid/buy them out quickly. I say bid/buy because I put the copper value denoting the number of items in the stack as the bid/buyout price, so I don’t have to click YES, I WANT TO BUY THIS ITEM every single freaking time. It also means that the neutral AH returns all the gold they charged upfront for the deposit, since they only take 15% of the sale price, minus the deposit. Well, if the sale price is 1-20 copper, even though the deposit was like 3 gold……you’re getting your 3 gold back.
It’s nice AND annoying when I get these huge transfers from the other side. It’s nice, because it’s an influx of mats that I need, and don’t want to pay overinflated prices on my own AH, since that just encourages the sellers to post higher. I should know, my Arcanite Rod prices keep creeping up. :) It’s annoying, because now I have to find space for all this stuff, and Demon Soul is a pretty full account. 10 toons, all personal bank bags bought, and 3 tabs in my own guild bank, and I still have storage problems. Yeah, I know, the smallest fiddle in the world is playing for my troubles. hehe
But at least I get to play tonight, and hopefully get my Darrowmere warrior Wartraveler up to level 20, so he can make Clockwrkmage a Golden Rod. Peace out!

....altoholic urges rising......

Woo7!!!! My last toon on Horde side Demon Soul is now an Engineer! I had been wanting to give my Leatherworker shaman Kukoshakaku engineering, but his bags and bank were packed too full of mats for leatherworking (along with armor/weapons he’d have to level to use). So, I leveled him from 21-25 this weekend, cleared out some room, and powerleveled him to 225 engineering. I also leveled his fishing from 140-175 while I was in Tarren Mill, since I had to go over there for the shaman quest “Call of Water.” I was trying to get the Thick Murloc armor recipe from the tradesman there, but it never spawned, even though Thottbot said it would. So, I had Sansetsukon get it from the leatherworking supplies vendor in Booty Bay, since Sansetsukon is stationed there to try to sell off Deviate Scale belt recipes to Ally players. I finished off Kuko’s well-rested XP while running to the Horde camp in 1k Needles, since I hadn’t gotten the Barbaric Leggings recipe yet, and it’s a pretty good item to make.
Speaking of leatherworking, I maxed out Tsuris’s Leatherworking at 225 on Daggerspine. I realized that I’d want to make 7 Dusky Belts, since they’re used in the Gnomish Harm Prevention belt recipe, and I have 7 toons that can wear leather. Now I just have to level up Kishigishi to level 35, so she can use them to top out her engineering to get to 240, so she can get the Deathray and Gnomish chicken recipes from the Gnomish trainer, and then dump engineering, level it back up to 200, and click on the book at Narain Soothfancy’s house at Steamwheedle Port. That will let me take up my end goal of Goblin engineering. I’m not sure if I’ll do this for Clockworknyt, since the Chicken doesn’t seem to do much. I’ll have to see if the Deathray rocks some socks against other players, or if I should not even bother making it.
Other items of note: I picked up the Robes of Arcana recipe for 15 gold and the Shadow Hood recipe for 8 gold with Preyonyou, my Draenai Priest tailoring alt. Robes of Arcana are used for a Warlock quest, so they’re always in demand. The Shadow Hood recipe isn’t blue, but I’ve only seen it twice, because it seems to be a rare drop. It’s a very nice hood that gives 11 intellect and +shadow damage to lvl 27? Cloth wearers, so it would be perfect for Warlocks and Shadow Priests. Warlocks especially, because I always pull with Shadow bolt, and immediately put 2 DOT shadow words on the mob.
I might also be starting up some more toons on Darrowmere, Horde side. One of my friends at work, the girl who got me into WOW, moved her toon there from Demon Soul. Since it would cost me $250 to move all 10 of my toons, I think I’ll just make a few to ten toons over there instead. I think I’m going to avoid making Tauren toons, and make a lot more Blood elf toons instead. Maybe a few Orcs, if I can avoid the whole greasy hair look. Yeah, I’m a snob, but I have the philosophy that if you’re going to be staring at someone’s butt for hours on end, it might as well be nice to look at. That’s why most of my Alliance toons are women. I think I’ll make a BE hunter, bring them all the way to Thunder Bluff immediately, and have them work on the TB startup quests. That way he/she will be well on their way to Exalted by 40, and able to get their Kodo.

Faction Specific Recipes and Corpse Running
Tips for Horde Players only - Want to get the Red Whelp Glove or Herbalism Glove pattern for your leatherworker? You could check the neutral AH every day, or leave an alt there so you don’t have to waste time getting there….or you could post on player forums to trade favors with another Horde player on another server. Once you’ve agreed to make the trade(s), how are you going to make the money to buy the recipes? Easy, it’s Mining! Best place to start a miner is Stormwind (Human starting zone). Do a couple of quests to get some money to buy a mining pick, and get to pickin’! A LOT of the Copper veins around Stormwind are set back in the hills, so you won’t grab aggro like you would by Ironforge, with most of the veins being patrolled by beasts. Some people will disagree, but hey, do what you’re comfortable with. All right, now you’ve gotten a few 20 stacks of copper ore, go sell it on the AH for a decent discount over the rest of the postings on there. Don’t forget to check both Copper Ore and Copper Bars to see which has a smaller supply/higher posting price, and smelt the Copper if you need to. Ok, now you have a few Gold, how are you going to get the recipes? If you’re lucky, they’ll be on the Auction House. If not, see below.
The Red Whelp Glove pattern is sold in the Wetlands, north of Ironforge. If you’re human, jump on the tram to Ironforge, run out of the city to Khaz Modan, and jump OFF the dam to your death. You’ll be taken to the Spirit Healer that’s in the middle of the Wetlands, so resurrect at that healer, and get ready to do a lot of corpse hopping. Keep running (and dying) and resurrecting by your body to get to the small encampment at tloc XX,YY in the Wetlands. Wenna has that pattern on sale often, so if you don’t see it immediately, log out for a bit, and it’ll be there the next time you come back.
Ok, now you’ve got the Red Whelp pattern, so go and get killed one more time. Bam! No more resurrecting for a while. Now it’s time to do what Mania detailed in her Mania’s Arcania blog, which is Corpse Traveling. Stay as a spirit, and take the road to Menethil Harbor. Get on the boat which comes to the northwest dock, not the one closest to shore. This boat takes you to Auberdine, in Darkshore. I think you get resurrected when you change zones on the boat, so get the flight point in Auberdine, and get killed close to town. The Rez point is a bit north of Auberdine, so you might as well get killed early, and not have to run the same path 2 times.
Runnnnnnn your happy butt south, still in spirit form, and keep on going on the road until you get to the Ally camp Astranaar in Ashenvale. Log out, and log back in, and resurrect at the Spirit Healer in town. If you don’t log out, you’ll be resurrected at the Spirit Healer in the Wetlands, since that’s the one closest to your body. Learn it, know it, love it! This Corpse Traveling trick can allow you to get to towns/areas in contested/enemy territory very easily, as long as you know where the Spirit Healer is. Anyways, now that you’ve resurrected at the Spirit Healer in town, run back west along the road until the road curves to the right (north). At that point, you’ll want to go south to the Shrine of Aessina. Hug the southwest mountain until you come to a hunter trainer, a pet trainer, and a herbalism supplier at tloc XX,YY. Be prepared to corpse hop a lot, because that path is patrolled by lvl 20+ spiders and wolves. I can almost guarantee you that the recipe will be in stock at the herbalism supplier, so pick it up, and hit your hearthstone. Bam! Back at your starting area by Stormwind. Start running south, and you’ll get killed soon enough once you hit Duskwood. Stay in spirit form, keep running south thru Duskwood, and you’ll get into Stranglethorn Vale. Run to Booty Bay, which is the southernmost tip of STV, and run to the entrance/exit of Booty Bay. The Spirit Healer is right outside the door, but remember to log out first, so you don’t get yanked back to where you first got killed. Whew! Set up a meeting time with your Horde buddy who did the same thing for you, and get ready to enjoy your Ally only recipes.
Red Whelp Gloves sell well (15-20 gold each) on Horde AH, but you’re going to have to have a skinner alt at least level 25+, because you’re going to have to go to the Wetlands to kill Red Whelp Dragonlings for the Red Whelp scales. I’ve only seen them on the AH three times on 2 servers, in about a year, and I scan for the word “whelp” pretty regularly. Herbalist gloves don’t sell as well on the Horde AH, perhaps most Herbalists are Taurens, with a passive +15 to herbalism. I’m not sure why not, because with a +5 herbalism enchant on the gloves (total +10 herbalism), you can pick herbs that were red to you before.
Anyway, this can also be used by Ally players to build up some starting capital as well, by using an alt. Send an alt down to Booty Bay after he’s collected about 5-10 of each recipe, and post 1 of each recipe for 24 hours. You’re not always going to sell during that time, but a lot of time you will. I’d recommend 4-6 gold for the Herbalist pattern, and 7-9 gold for the Red Whelp Gloves pattern. You’ll be taken to the Spirit Healer that’s in the middle of the Wetlands, so resurrect at that healer, and get ready to do a lot of corpse hopping. Keep running (and dying) and resurrecting by your body to get to the small encampment at tloc XX,YY in the Wetlands. Wenna has that pattern on sale often, so if you don’t see it immediately, log out for a bit, and it’ll be there the next time you come back.
Ok, now you’ve got the Red Whelp pattern, so go and get killed one more time. Bam! No more resurrecting for a while. Now it’s time to do what Mania detailed in her Mania’s Arcania blog, which is Corpse Traveling. Stay as a spirit, and take the road to Menethil Harbor. Get on the boat which comes to the northwest dock, not the one closest to shore. This boat takes you to Auberdine, in Darkshore. I think you get resurrected when you change zones on the boat, so get the flight point in Auberdine, and get killed close to town. The Rez point is a bit north of Auberdine, so you might as well get killed early, and not have to run the same path 2 times.
Runnnnnnn your happy butt south, still in spirit form, and keep on going on the road until you get to the Ally camp Astranaar in Ashenvale. Log out, and log back in, and resurrect at the Spirit Healer in town. If you don’t log out, you’ll be resurrected at the Spirit Healer in the Wetlands, since that’s the one closest to your body. Here’s a list of what I keep in a bag on my AH alt for easy reference, so I can just shift+click the item, instead of trying to remember what to look up. Citrine, Jade, Aquamarine, Lesser Moonstone, Moss Agate, Star Ruby, Shadowgem (it’s used in Barbaric Bracers I believe XXXX), Iridescent Pearl, Small Lustrous Pearl, Black Pearl & Shadowcat Hide (used in Shadowcat gloves? XXXX), Elemental Fire, Essence of Fire, and Mithril Bars. I usually just type in pearl to scan for all the pearls available, and I click the Elemental and Essence items I have, then delete the “Fire” part. This allows me to scan for all the essences and elemental items on the market, and bid on the ones that have low starting bids. I’m not high enough to be able to kill the monsters that drop these items, or survive in the areas where I can mine some of these gems, but I know how to take advantage of optimistic people who put items in with a low starting bid. :)
I also try to remember to check for Mithril, because it’ll come up with mithril ores and bars, along with Mithril filigree (JC) and Mithril items from Blacksmithing. If you have a Miner that you’ve powerleveled to be able to smelt Mithril, you can take advantage of the price difference that sometimes happens between Ores and Bars.
If you have a Jewelcrafter, you’ll know that it takes 3 Mithril Bars to make a Mithril Filigree, and it’s annoying to make them if you’re not getting skill points from it. It’s often posted at a very cheap price, so if you start looking for it early, you won’t be wasting mats that you could sell or use on other professions.
If you have an enchanter, know that you can often find good items to disenchant on the AH by typing in Mithril and Mageweave. Items that have those keywords are a big part of Tailoring and Blacksmithing, so people will post a lot of them at once, with a low bid price.
When buying recipes for alts, be aware that some green recipes are actually vendor sold, not drops. Cat’s eye goggles (stealth detection) are frequent rewards from renewing your Gnomish engineering membership card, so I wouldn’t bother getting them off the AH either, unless it’s a really low bid of like 15 silver, or a buyout of 50 silver. I renewed 5x one day, and the next day received 2 of the Cat’s Eye goggle recipes as gifts for renewing. But, the 3rd gift turned out to be the recipe for Lil’ Smoky (robot non-attack pet), so I was pleased.
Like I said, don’t waste your gold on vendor/trainer sold recipes that you see on the Auction House. Send an alt there to camp, and every so often check back in to see if you can buy some recipes. Since you’re there, you might as well make it profitable, so buy as many recipes as you can afford. I’ll point to Azshara’s southern coast lighthouse for the Deepdive Helmet recipe (36 silver?) that you can easily sell for 3-4 gold. The other vendor in that building has the Blue Dragonscale Breastplate recipe on occasion (sell for 20-25 or even 30-40 gold), and Chimeric Gloves (sell for 7-9 gold) more frequently.

Happy New Year! I turned 30 on Friday, so I spent the weekend enjoying my presents. I got a XBOX 360, Halo 3, Lost Planet, and James Bond Volume 4 movie pack. Not a bad haul. I was also off on vacation during this first week of 2008, so I was able to make money on the AH (of course), as well as level a few characters. My BE paladin Clockworknyt was able to solo Shadowfang Keep as far as the stables at level 26, so she could pick up the last item for her polearm quest. This prompted me to start leveling my Human paladin, and she ended up soloing it at lvl 29. Now I have to do a PUG for Deadmines, or have a guildie run me through, since the paladin hasn’t done that instance at all.
Thrillkiller still hasn’t been able to sell the Barbaric Iron recipes on the Neutral AH, even though my price has dropped. I started at 25-50 gold, and now it’s down to 10-20 gold. If I was a Ally blacksmith, I’d jump at the chance for Horde recipes. They’re about the only items that use Sharp Tooth's as a mat, because nobody seems to want to use Rage Potions since it puts a cooldown on Healing Potions.
Ryoushigishi is now level 29 as well, making my Ally account mostly 25-30’s. They’re fast approaching the level of my Horde account, and have about the same amount of gold. Alliance seems to buy everything on the AH, as long as you know what you’re doing. I think if I make another account, I’d just make my money from mining and skinning, and avoid the hassle of rebreaking enchanting mats and constantly posting them. It’s lucrative, but time-consuming. I’d only do it for the Vision dust/Lesser Nether Essence/Small Radiant Shard level mats or higher.
I just discovered that Shadoweave items are not listed as recipes from your regular tailoring trainers. They have their own trainers, which are Josephine Lister in the Magic Quarter of Undercity, and some trainer in the Slaughtered Lamb of Stormwind. Makes sense to place them near the Warlock trainers, since the items give + Shadow damage, but why not have the regular trainers list the recipes, especially since you can now learn up to 300 tailoring in the capitol cities? I made a couple of the gloves, and put them on the AH. I think there’s a good chance that they’ll sell, since both warlocks and Shadow Priests can use them.
I had Bloodshrike go to Booty Bay and teleport over to Gnomeregan. There’s only one Horde quest that he could do, but I wanted to take a look. I was able to do the neutral Blastmaster quest, where you help the Alliance gnome inspect the tunnels, then fight off waves of troggs. Annoying, but would probably be doable at level 30 for my other toons. It’s amazing how much I’ve learned from BRK’s blog on how to play hunters. I remember when I first started, and had never done an instance before, and wandered into Ragefire Chasm by mistake. I got slaughtered, and vowed to come back at a higher level. I got a PUG for it (I think) and cleared it, but I also came back at level 22 confident that I’d be able to take them down. They’re only level 13 Elites, right rite? I got slaughtered by the troggs again. In comparison, my level 26 Paladin was able to get to the stables in SFK, and would probably be able to go all the way through the instance if I had enough time, and those are level 20-22 Elites, attacking in groups quite often.
Anyways, back to Bloodshrike. I’m wandering around Gnomer, trying to figure it out, and I find the Alliance rest station in the middle of it. They get a mailbox, vendors to sell off junk, and …. a washing machine to do laundry? The Sparkle-o-matic isn’t really worth doing. I washed about 20 Grime encrusted objects, and got about 7 rough stones, 1 heavy stone, 1 copper ore, 2 tin ore, 4 Tigerseye, 4 Malachite, and assorted junk. This was for 3 silver a pop, so 3 silver x 20 = 60 silver. Not bad, not good either. While I was there, I was playing around with my macro’s, and put Concussive Shot and Scorpid Sting on the same button, with a cast sequence. This frees up my F button for Multi-shot, and I usually let my Auto shot/Arcane shot do most of the work, popping off a concussive/scorpid only occasionally.

I actually played on my Horde account last night! I want to knock out the Winter Veil quests, so last night around 2 am I went to the Alterac Mountains and looked for the Abominable Greench. I killed him almost immediately, and realized that I hadn’t found the snowman Sacks to pick up the “You’re a Mean One” quest to actually get the quest item from the Greench. So, I knocked out the Frostmaw quest while I was waiting, and about 2 minutes later the Greench started making noise. I killed him again, picked up the quest item, and hearthed back to Thunder Bluff. I turned in the Frostmaw quest, and took a ride to Orgrimmar to turn in the Smokeywood Pastures crate.
Unfortunately, I got the Blacksmithing Edge of Winter recipe, of which I had just bought twice for 5 g each, earmarking them for later resale. I’ll give it to Bullkathos, but I don’t think Thrillkiller needs to learn it, especially when I’m still up in the air about his professions. Hopefully Banesidhe will get the Enchanting Enchant Weapon - Winter's Might or Leatherworking Gloves of the Greatfather recipe, because the Engineering Snowmaster 9000 recipe doesn’t really appeal to me. I bought a ton of snowballs, and it’s almost not worth logging on to an alt just to make 1 snowball. I could see Bloodshrike and Bonescourge (at level 35) doing it, because they’d be logging on to do their Arcanite Bar transmutes anyway.
So, I can do the reindeer and Greench quest with Banesidhe as well, but I’m going to have to level Thrillkiller and Bullkathos if they were to hope to have a chance of taking the level 36 Elite Greench down, since they’re only lvl 30 and 32, respectively. I need to see how long the Greatfather will be in town, because we all know my problems of actually getting out and leveling. :)

Friday I went to bed early because I had gotten a flu shot and I had been staying up until 3 am last week anyway. Saturday morning I logged on to discover that it was Feast of Winter Veil time! I had been saving almost every small egg I ran across, in preparation for this time of year. I had about 140 eggs on Demon Soul, and about 120 on Dagger spine. I made enough Gingerbread cookies for all my alts on each server, and then made more to sell off on the AH. I sold them at 3.5 gold for a 5 stack, and I sold out within the first hour. Well, when other people are selling at 3 gold for 1 small egg, my prices were very attractive. I even sold off the other 4 Glasses of milk that I bought from the inn, since the quest only requires 5 gingerbread cookies and 1 glass of milk. I saw the 1x Glass of milk in the AH at 50 silver, so I’d price them at 25-35 silver, and they all sold! People are very, very, very lazy in this game.
Saturday night I was able to turn in the gingerbread cookies for all my horde characters, run to Thrall’s chambers and then hearth back to TB to turn in the “Reason for the Season” book to Cairne Bloodhoof (Ally characters have it easy, they only have to run to the Explorer’s League quarters, and then to the King of Ironforge.)
Sunday was my parents 50th anniversary up in Sacramento, so that took up most of my day. I was only able to log on with a couple of Ally characters to turn in the quests, but I did spend most of that 70 gold I picked up from selling eggs. It’s a habit of mine to always check the containers section, just in case they have Fel Iron Toolboxes or Travelers Bags for cheap. Well, I saw a Bag of Hides (24 slot LW bag) for only 65 gold, whereas before it had been going for 100+ gold. I price checked the mats for it, and on Daggerspine, it would cost way more than 90 gold to make that bag. So, I snapped it up quickly, and sent it to Tsuris. I’ve bought out all the bag slots for my Leatherworkers on both servers, because they seem to need a lot of different mats, not to mention all the 225-300 LW recipes I’ve gotten off the AH.
I was able to get some of the Feast of Winter Veil quests for my Horde characters, since 4 of them are level 30+. I’m going to try to knock those out this week, and hopefully get the Winter’s Edge recipe (BS), Gloves of the Greatfather (LW), and the Snowmaster 9000 (Eng). I did buy a full 14 slot bag of Snowballs for each of the servers, so I can sell them off later next year for 2 gold per 20 stack. It’s only 10 copper for a 5 stack, so only 40 copper for a 20 stack is a good deal. I think they also spawn in the Alterac mountains at this time of year, but it’s a lot easier to just buy them now, instead of collecting them one at a time while I’m there. I thought they were pretty useless, just used to have snowball fights and to make the Snowmaster 9000, but you also need them to summon the non-attack pets you get from the Feast of Winter Veil quests/presents.
