Holla!!!! Holler? Hola…. Halaa!

7/7/09

Well, I only ended up with Bonescourge and Pallormortis getting the Spirit of Summer pet on Demon Soul, and I think Clockwrkmage got it on Daggerspine. But, I didn’t care too much about the pet, I appreciated the 2 bubbles of EZ XP per character, per day.

So, once the Fire Festival ended on Sunday morning (4 am server time), I decided it was time to start leveling some professions. Annihilus on Darrowmere needed to level her JC skillz to 225, Thrillkiller on Demon Soul needed to get to 375 engineering, and Doomslinger my former hunter twink was in need of 225 Inscription and Engineering.

Annihilus didn’t take too long to level, and I loved making the mithril settings, as I was able to go from 150-190 JC with just one recipe.

Thrillkiller, on the other hand….. It takes me a while to level each stage of engineering. The guides that are on the interwebs are designed for people who want to level up their professions as fast and cheaply as possible. They usually don’t have dropped recipes included in them, and really, nobody will ever be rich or even break even using just trainer bought recipes. Looking back on it though….I didn’t really make anything special to sell, it just took me a while to get all the mats together. I know I made a bunch of Elemental Blasting Powder, then Fel Iron Bombs until 330+. Then I switched to Adamantite Frames, and 5 Adamantite Scopes, and got to 350 with a Cogspinner Goggles of the Bandit (31 Agility, 46 Stamina, 62 AP). After that, it was smooth sailing to 375, making Volatile Blasting Triggers, with 1 point coming from the Gnomish Poultryizer.

I didn’t make the Nigh-Invulnerability Belt yet, as Khorium Bars/Ore couldn’t be found on my Auction house, and I hate asking in trade for items, since buyers know they have you over a barrel at that point. When they have metal in the AH, they paid a deposit for that, so they want to sell it. When in trade, they’ll jack up the price or simply refuse to talk to you because your initial offer didn’t match some price they had in their head, and they punish you for not being able to read their minds. I’m somewhat used to haggling, or at least offering low, being countered high, and usually settling in the middle. With some WoW players, you only have one shot to give them a price, and if you offer low, they laugh at you and /ignore you. Idiots…..

So, because of the need for Khorium Power Cores, Bloodshrike went on a field trip! I had intended to wait to adventure in Outlands until the new patch, when I’d be able to get my flying training at 60, training and mount prices would be reduced, and I could finally get mounts for all my level 20+’s on Darrowmere. But, needs must, I suppose.

So, Bloodshrike set off from Falcon Watch, ran thru Zangarmarsh (getting the FP on the way), thru Blades Edge Mountains (getting the FP from Mok’Nathal Village), and on to Area 52 in Netherstorm. I was freaking on the way, especially in Blade’s Edge, since I was running thru a cave with a bunch of higher level spiders, and I was expecting to be automatically dismounted or knocked off by a spider at any second. I’m used to ghost-running, or even corpse-hopping exploring, but being able to explore high level areas without getting killed repeatedly is still a new one to me. Of course, having 7.5k health at level 63 does help a lot. :)

I left Bloodhrike at Area 52 for a day, checking in occasionally to what I could buy from Qiff. I got 1 Khorium Power Core for 4.8 gold, a few Fel Iron Bolts for 60 silver each, a few Adamantite Frames, and some smoke flares just because.

After a while, I realized I was only a half bubble away from leveling to 64, so I decided to go out and explore, and maybe pick up some Alchemy recipes for Bloodshrike. I also realized that I could get the Gnomish Toshley’s Station transporter recipe, since I had 450 engineering, and you only need 350 to learn it. After I picked it up from Smiles O’Byron, I headed west to the other Horde town, Thunderlord Stronghold. Got the flightpoint there, and flew back to Zangarmarsh. I picked up the alchemy recipes Recipe: Elixir of Major Frost Power and Recipe: Sneaking Potion from Seer Janidi, then decided to go get the fp for Nagrand. After looking at ProfessionsBook, it showed that a vendor in Halaa sold a couple of alchemy recipes as well, so I headed over.

Along the way, I got waylaid by a quest. The quest giver for the Cenarion expedition had a simple exploring quest, which got compounded by me running into Fahssn on the way over. So, I got sucked into grinding the Bog Lords and picking up spore sacs, but it was actually pretty fun! With the burst damage from Hand-Mounted Pyro Rocket and Gnomish Lightning Generator, using each one every 30 seconds really, really speeds up grinding those bog lords. I got to almost friendly with the Sporeggar, then decided it was time to call it a night, and just made a run to Garadar in Nagrand. That’s some really beautiful scenery to run through! The funny part is, even though I’m 64, and the monsters are higher than me, I have way more health than them, and me and my gorilla didn’t have a problem dealing with a few pesky 67’s that attacked.

Don’t call it a comeback, I didn't go anywhere.... :)

5/29/09

I’ve been concentrating on leveling toons lately. On Demon Soul, Bloodshrike is now 62, Bullkathos is 52, Thrillkiller just got to 50 last night, and I buckled down and ground out levels with Kukoshakaku, so he went from 28-35. I had to, he has about 400 clefthoof leather that I’ve been keeping in the mail system forever, and I want to just keep it in the bank once I learn all the recipes in there. Plus, since I got Tsuris on Daggerspine to level his LW to 300, I found some nice, actually useful leather items that I wanted to make for my rogues/hunters/shamans/druids when they got to those levels.

Helm of Fire is an awesome leather helm, and the mail Dragonscale chest is pretty sweet for hunters and shamans. The Stormshroud pants aren’t that great though, only giving slightly more crit than the level 37 pants Thrill had, and a lot less Agi and Stamina. I’ll see if it’s worth making the whole set for Thrill. They’re basically a dodge/crit set, and designed for rogues or feral druids, since one of the set bonuses is for regaining energy.

Speaking of Thrillkiller, he went on a rampage this last weekend. I was tired of having old quests clutter up my quest log, and I realized that since I had been so anal about completing every quest I came across, Thrill was already half-way or better on most of his reputation levels with the capitol cities. I figured I might as well get more rep by knocking out the dungeon achievements and quests. So, during the Memorial Day weekend, I had Thrill solo Wailing Caverns, Blackfathom Deeps, Razorfen Kraul, and Razorfen Downs. Downs was the hardest, since Ammenar the Coldbringer had his summons swarm me, and I had already used up a Fel Iron bomb on him, and had just used my Harm Prevention Belt on Glutton. I think I was still 48 when I took down Glutton, but he hits pretty hard.

This Dungeon clearing kick got started by Thrillkiller being in Booty Bay, and deciding to do Gnomer. I had already snuck down in there before to get the Discombobulator ray schematic from the Punchograph-D machine, but I didn’t kill Thermaplugg. Since the last patch changed how the engineering Lil Smoky and Pet Bombling recipes drop in that you can now get both of them from Gnomer, and you can’t get them from renewing your membership, I figured it would be a good time to pop in there, get both recipes and kill Thermaplugg, and be on my way. No such luck. Thermaplugg is supposed to have a 100% drop on the Pet Bombling recipe, which may be, since I only killed him once and he did drop it. But Warcraftpets.com lists the drop rate of the Lil Smoky recipe from the Arcane Nullifier, Crowd Pummeler, and Peacekeeper mechs at 20%. Thottbot lists it at around 2%, which is how it was for me. I probably did 6 runs on that blasted instance, killing 1 Crowd Pummeler, 4 Peacekeepers, and 10-15 Arcane Nullifiers each run. I think it was the last Arcane Nullifier in the area on the 6th run that finally dropped it, and it was a good thing, because I was ready to just forget about it. Luckily, Bullkathos already has the Lil Smoky recipe, so when he goes into the instance, he’ll just use seaforium charges to blow the back door, come in thru the Engineering Labs, get the Discombobulator recipe in the Engineering Labs, then go kill Thermaplugg and get the Pet Bombling recipe.

I also worked on Bloodshrike (Darrowmere), my Blood Elf hunter. She knocked out Ragefire Chasm (very good Thunderbluff rep on those quests), and Wailing Caverns (decent TB rep). I was surprised that the Leaders of the Fang quest gave no rep at all, even though you usually get rep when you have a quest to kill a boss in an instance. But, the Glowing Gem quest that drops from Mutanus does give a good bit of TB rep.
I’m mentioning TB rep because I want Bloodshrike to have a Kodo, and not the Hawkstrider that Blood Elves get. Granted, the Hawkstriders are a lot better looking than the elephants that Draenai get, so I guess I should be grateful.

While Bloodshrike was finishing up quests, I took her to Ashenvale to do the Test of Lore section of the whole quest chain that starts in 1K needles. It ends up with quests to go into Scarlet Monastery, so I want to do it with SOMEONE who can actually benefit from the quest rewards that drop. While I was there, I noticed I hadn’t killed Shadumbra, so on my way back from dropping off the book in Stonetalon, I swung by the Laughing Sisters and took Shadumbra’s head. Since I was there, I figured I’d go up to Feralas and pick up the neutral flight point there, for when I could come back to it at 45 or so. So, I ride up there, and I noticed a Human Rogue that was a skull to me. He had about 2500 hp, and I had 1900 at level 39, so he was probably 10 levels above me. I’ve gotten used to higher level players not attacking me, and I figured he’d do likewise. I figured wrong. I’m heading toward the flightpoint, when all of a sudden I got sapped. I stand there, swaying dazedly, while he calmly proceeds use my back as a pincushion. I got a bit annoyed at that, so I charged back from the graveyard, found him starting to use his hearthstone, so I rezzed and immediately started attacking. He hadn’t killed Arikara, so I was able to summon him instantly, then I popped my Mithril Mechanical Dragonling trinket and my Gnomish Harm Prevention belt. The Mithril dragonling (unlike the others) has a limit on how much it can scale up with your engineering. It can only get up to level 50, whereas the Mechanical Dragonling and the Arcanite Dragonling scale up based on how high your engineering level is. So, my level 62 Bloodshrike has an Arcanite Dragonling guardian that’s probably level 75 or 80.
But I digress. Between Arikara, my dragonling, and me riddling him with holes, the rogue got kilt. He tried to do the smoke bomb escape, but since I always start out with a Hunter’s Mark/petatttack macro, I was still able to see him, and of course my dragonling could too. I bet that sucked for him, thinking he was big and bad by taking down someone gray to him, then that player coming back and just annihilating him in retaliation. In hindsight, I should have stuck around and killed him a few more times, just to drive home the fact that it’s not cool to pick on lower levels.

After that, I decided to take Bloodshrike to Badlands, since that’s a 40-45 area, and it would be a good place for her to work on her skinning. Plus, I’ve had the items for all the turn-in quests in that zone for far too long, and I need to start clearing out her bank.
I’m so relieved to finally be able to level Kukoshakaku in Leatherworking. Not only that, but due to my pack rat mentality, I’m able to make multiples of items that will actually sell well on the AH, instead of having to sell them for less than the cost of the mats. I was looking ahead at what the mats are for the Stormshroud set that I’ll make for Thrillkiller, and I noticed it took a bunch of Ironweb Spider Silk and Essence of Air……..hmmmm, Clockwrknyt just so happens to have a hundred or so Essence of Air in her bank, and probably about 50 Ironweb Spider Silk. I just went from 275 to 285 last night, and was able to learn about 10 new recipes. I did notice that the Stormshroud chest recipe wasn’t among them, and apparently it drops off a specific mob type in Azshara. Looks like Pallor needs to make another trip up there.

Sneaky sneaky, Sir

4/11/08
Wahoo!!! It’s nice to be able to post enchanting mats again. Banesidhe posted a bunch of Vision Dust, Small Radiant Shards, and Lesser Nether Essence on the AH on Wednesday night, and came back on Thursday to find a cool 150 G in his inbox. The previous sellers must have underbid themselves into the ground, and stopped posting, leaving me an almost free market. There was virtually nobody posting nether essence or small radiant shards, and I’m used to seeing a lot of other sellers in the market.

I decided to take Thrillkiller over to Gnomeregan, since I wanted to get the [Schematic: Discombobulator Ray]. Very easy for a level 42 rogue to get in there. I’m going to have to charge in with Clockworknyt though, and learn the schematic at around 150, so I can get some skill points for it, once I respecc from Gnomish to Goblin. I figure I should be able to do it by about level 36 at least, since they’re only level level 27-30 elite. It’s a huge instance, and I’m glad I was able to stealth, because it wouldn’t be fun to fight through. The irradiated troggs spill tainted blood on their fellows when they die, turning them from normal mobs into elites, making it harder to kill them. You have to target the normal mobs first, then take down the elites. Well, Thrill didn’t have to do any of that. I snuck around, pickpocketed some of the mobs, then went and killed the Mechgineer boss in the final chamber. You’re supposed to have someone run around and hit the switches to disable the bomb pipes, but it’s not needed when you’re high enough. I cheapshotted him, used the lowered defense attack, hit my Gnomish Harm Prevention Belt, and immediately used my Death Ray. I tossed in a Fel Iron Bomb, and with a few smacks with my maces later, he was dead.

On Darrowmere, the price for the gems is a little skewed. On my other servers, Talasite and Star of Elune usually sell for about 50 gold each, making the decision to buy them for 12 gold an easy one. But on Darrowmere, they sell for only about 8-10 gold, meaning that I lost money on buying them. Luckily I was able to sell the Living Ruby for about 35 gold, giving Gimmershred a bit more buying capital to go back and camp the Faire some more.

Ryoushigishi is planning ahead

2/27/08
Ding! Thrillkiller hit level 40 while in the spider cave in Dustwallow Marsh, after camping enough to get 2.5 stacks of Iron Ore and 1.5 stacks of Mithril Ore. Usually 2 Iron Veins, 1 Mithril Vein, a treasure chest in the middle, and occasionally a level 38 rare spider would spawn when I’d log in every couple of hours. I’d spend 3 minutes killing and mining the veins, then log back out and go back to Daggerspine. I ended up at 233 mining, which was enough to allow me to learn to smelt Truesilver Ore, but smelting it doesn’t give you any free mining points. It’s grey when you learn it. The next one, Thorium Ore, isn’t until 250.

Ryoushigishi is about halfway powerleveled right now, I just had to get enough mats to allow him to powerlevel comfortably. Since he’s my highest hunter on Daggerspine, I wanted to have him get the Sniper Scope recipe, since he’d be using it the most. Unfortunately, I also want him to make 9 Mithril Mechanical Dragonlings, and they (and Sniper Scopes) share Star Rubies as a mat, so I have to juggle my available supply. Star Rubies on Daggerspine usually can be gotten for 1 to 1.5 gold, but right now it’s about 3-5 gold, so I have to hoard what I’ve saved up. The mats required for 9 Mithril Dragonlings are pretty intensive. 9x2=18 Goblin Rocket Fuel, 9x2=18 Star Rubies, 9x14=126 Mithril Bar, 9x4=36 Heart of Fire, 9x2=18 Inlaid Mithril Cylinder (IMC).

Luckily, I have all professions, so Panzergishi is able to make IMC’s, but that’s 5 Mithril Bar, 1 Truesilver Bar, and 1 Golden Bar each. 18x5=90 Mithril Bar, 18 Truesilver Bar, and 18 Golden Bar.
Total cost = 216 Mithril Bar, 18 Truesilver Bar, 18 Golden Bar, 18 Goblin Rocket Fuel, 18 Star Rubies, 36 Heart of Fire.
And, I have to make another 9 Mithril Dragonlings with another character later on, in preparation for when I can use them to make Arcanite Dragonlings. Such is the life of an Altoholic….

Ryo also needs to leave some powerleveling skill points open for making Truesilver Transformers for Kishi, since she’ll use them to make Goblin Jumper Cables XL.
It sucks that I’m basically draining my toons dry of all my mithril and Truesilver, but I can send Kishi over to the Drywhisker Gorge in Arathi Highlands, and she can level up her mining skill with the Mithril/Iron/Gold and Lesser Bloodstone Ore that spawns in there, since I’ll need the Bloodstone for my toons to turn in to Krazek in Booty Bay for the broken Crockpot quest.

Garfield the Cat says "Hit them back first!"

2/25/08
Hehe, I had some fun with engineering this weekend. I powered Kishigishi up to 286 engineering, and now I’m only waiting for Ryoushigishi to hit level 35 and make some Truesilver Transformers, so Kishi can make a bunch of Goblin Jumper Cables XL. Those things usually are on the AH for like 80-90 gold, and it’s not that expensive for the materials, I believe. With Kishi’s +5 mining enchant on her gloves, and the +5 on the Goblin Mining Helmet, it’s an instant +10 boost to mining, great for digging up a higher level ore.

I must say that it’s fun to level up Goblin engineering, and play around with all the goblin only BOP devices. The Goblin Mining Helmet is a actually a very nice helm for its level, offering 15 stamina in a mail helm. More stamina than the Green Iron Helmet, so I’m using it exclusively now. The Goblin Rocket Helmet looks like a grayish version of the Deepdive Helmet, but it’ll be fun to use it to charge up on Horde, who are not expecting paladins to have ranged attacks. The Goblin Bomb dispenser doesn’t do a lot of damage (around 300+), but it’s essentially an infinite bomb supply. With the Goblin Mortar, I could have 3 AOE bomb blasts going on during a fight. Lead off with the Goblin mortar at super long range, charge up to the enemy with the Rocket Helmet, stun them for 30 seconds (and stun myself for a few), use a dense dynamite, and finish it off with the bomb dispenser, which will probably spawn and blow up instantly, much like an Explosive Sheep. If I had attacked a bunch of people with my first attack, and they just grouped up around me to beat me down, this would help a lot. Of course, I could use my Goblin Dragon Gun to flame a bunch of them to death, since it does 60 damage per second for 10 seconds=600 damage in a cone, if they’re not smart enough to run away. So many choices, so few enemies to try them on….. :)

Ryo had something similar to the above scenario happen to him. I was doing a few easy turn-in quests in Duskwood, then headed down to get the flight point at the northern point of STV. I picked up the cooking pot quest to turn-in at Booty Bay, and found I hadn’t gotten the flight master there. So, I found a Hordie, got killed intentionally, and ghost ran down the shoreline. I got to the Spirit Healer, logged, logged back in, and got the flight point there. I also picked up the quest to check out the Nessingwary hunter’s camp, so I flew back to the top of STV, and ran down to the camp. A level 31 orc shaman, and a level 32 BE hunter were in the camp, and so I hit back first, and sent DarkGhstness to occupy the shaman. I quickly finished them off, dropping a Dense dynamite to hurt both of them, and letting off my Mechanical Dragonling to distract them. The Shaman went down first, even though he healed a couple of times, and then I turned my attention to the hunter. Concentrated shots and arcane shots took him down, his pet did negligible damage to me, so I sat down to eat and get my Well-fed buff. No such luck, as the shaman had come from the graveyard just across the river, and was attacking me again. I took most of his health, and then a passing rogue knifed him in the back, and he was gone.

I also played Horde this weekend, surprisingly. I logged in to find that I had parked Thrillkiller in the inn at Stonard (Swamp of Sorrows), and he was camping the alchemy and trade supply vendors for a few rarely seen recipes. I accepted the available quests for the area, and then ran out of the camp and headed north, to the hills. I found a few Mithril and Iron veins, but not enough to really make this area a great place for leveling mining. I think either the Darkmist spider cave in Dustwallow Marsh or the Drywhisker Gorge cave in the Arathi Highlands are the best areas for powerleveling from 180-220+ in Mining.

I had fun with my engineering trinkets though. As I was killing the crocolisks in the swamp, my lvl 39 rogue found a level 41 NE druid doing the same thing. I couldn’t have him taking my kills, so I snuck up on him, used a Cheapshot, used those 2 points to lower his defense, used a Dense dynamite, then stabbed him to death. I kept him on /target, and just kept hitting it every so often. I continued killing crocolisks, fading back into stealth after every kill. Whaddaya know, he popped back up again. This time I waited until he was done killing a crocolisk, then used my Gnomish Shrink Ray to shrink him down. Stab stab, and another honor kill. A little while later, I noticed a red name in the air again, so I stealthed, waited until he was about half health from fighting a crocolisk, then popped him with my Death Ray. 800 damage to him, a negligible amount of damage to me, and another HK. I decided to leave him alone, since I had gotten all my unprepared crocolisk flanks, and went do to the shore to fish for the last fish in my fishing quest. I got it, turned in my flanks to the Orc outpost by the coast, and went back to Stonard. I hearthed back to TB to drop off stuff in my bank and resupply, then flew to Dustwallow Marsh to camp the spider cave there.

Planning Ahead

1/15/2008
Thrillkiller (Horde rogue) is now level 37, a 300 level Gnomish Engineer, level 286 cook, 210 First Aid, 221 Mining, and working on the fishing quest to increase the fishing skill cap to 300. It is so FUN to be an engineer! Yelling Geronimooooo! and jumping off Freewind Post in 1K needles, then popping your parachute cloak and floating safely to the ground. And the explosives really come in handy as well. It seems that Blizz gave each level cap an option for bombs that have no stun effect, but are cost effective to make. For the 300 level, you can make Dense Dynamite, which costs 2 Dense Blasting powder and 3 runecloth, and makes 2 bombs that do about 300-400 damage to an area. When I can bid on and get solid and dense stacks for 30 silver each, and a stack of runecloth for 1.2 gold, this is an easy choice for me. I think the 225 level has Solid Dynamite, which is Solid Blasting powder and Silk cloth.

Along the way, I was able to make 7 Mithril Mechanical Dragonlings. I was going to make the 17 I need for all my toons (9 engineers, and Bloodshrike made one already), but I’m not going to pay 4 gold each Star Ruby! Ludicrous, especially since I’ll be mining Thorium soon. I’m sure it will be a long time before I hit 50, so that will give me time to accumulate enough when I powerlevel my first engineer to 375. I was lucky enough to buy the Arcanite Dragonling schematic on the Horde server, and I think I also got it on my Ally server as well. There’s certain recipes that I want all my engineer toons to know, like Goblin Land Mines, but the high level ones like Sniper Scope and the Arcanite Dragonling, I’m comfortable just having 1 toon on each server have it. Planning ahead, I will make double the number of Mithril Dragonlings that most of my toons would need, because one of them is used in making the Arcanite Dragonling, and I couldn’t do that if only one of my toons has the recipe, and the trinkets are soulbound to the other toons. Since I ran out of Star Rubies, and continued powerleveling, I guess Morticide will probably be the toon to make and hold the other Mithril dragonlings, because Kukoshakaku’s bank is full of leatherworking mats. Literally, full. I need to play him, so I can equip the items clogging up space in the main bank area, and easily be able to dump stuff I get from grinding.

A Plethora of updates

1/8/08
Ryoushigishi hit level 30!! I can now get the specialization quest for gnomish engineering, and go to Booty Bay to talk to the trainer there. Only 5 character levels before I can increase my engineering max level to 300. I did this last level in the Wetlands, killing raptors and Red Whelplings for their hides, and hoping for Red Whelp scales to drop. I also did Dark Iron War in Bael Modan, which involves killing about 20-25 lvl 29 Dark Iron Dwarves. Pretty easy with a lvl 29 Hunter, and I discovered a friendly vendor Dark Iron Entrepreneur in the upper left building, where I found the last 3 Dark Iron Demolitionists hiding out.

After that, it was time to check auctions. Daggerspine must have a limited amount of Blacksmiths, because my Silver Rods and Golden Rods will sell for 2-3 gold and 4-6 gold, respectively. My Blacksmith warrior Panzergishi currently has about 250 gold, and he’s only level 24. Though, as usual, it’s hard as heckfire to sell any armor or weapons that are crafted, unless it’s the Shining Silver Breastplate or Green Iron Hauberk.

I did decide to drop Blacksmithing on Thrillkiller, over on my Horde server. He’s my highest miner, and I’d be kicking myself every time I passed metal veins that I could be picking up. Bullkathos will be fine being my only blacksmith, since they can respec for a measly 100g a pop. That’s nothing compared with the arduous and expensive process that leveling blacksmithing takes. I know I’m wasting all the 1-225 recipes I picked up, but like when I dumped Leatherworking and Skinning on Bullkathos, it was something that had to be done.

At least my Ally account was planned out properly, I only dumped level 125 leatherworking on Aosdanasaoi when I became convinced that Engineering for all characters was the way to go. It still is, in my opinion. The armor/weapons you can make for yourself can easily be duplicated by stuff you buy off the Auction House instead, but the sheer joy of blasting 4-6 enemies at once with about 350 damage for a total of 1400 to 2100 damage, then dumping most of that aggro with a nicely timed Target Dummy…..it’s fun squared.

I also got rid of my n00b hunter weapons on Bloodshrike. I had a sword and axe that had a total of about 10 stamina and 5 agility, with Fiery on both of them, so I replaced them with a 2-handed sword with 12 stamina and agility, and had Banesidhe put +3 intellect on it. It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing, and I only have melee and spirit enchants to put on at this point, since I haven’t gotten any kind of faction recipes.

I’m at work, but they can’t make me work!

12/26/07
I got my Horde Rogue Thrillkiller from level 30 to 31 on Monday night, and cleared out all the Ashenvale quests that I’m going to do with him. I must say, dual-wielding Jade Serpentblade swords with Demonslaying on both of them made taking down the Infernals and other demons pretty easy. I might keep those swords in the bank for use in Desolace, even if I do upgrade my regular weapons in the meantime. I’m going to miss mining, but I’m going to keep Blacksmithing and take up Engineering at level 35. I was missing the ability to use my parachute cloak and bombs while I was questing. It was worth doing the Warsong supplies quest though, as I scored the leather Warsong boots which boosted my stats up significantly. I just need to sent Thrill some Vision dust so he can get a +5 stamina enchant on them.
On a side note, because of Christmas, there was a dearth of enchanting mats on Demon Soul. So, I put a high price on mats with Gwiddonyn, a fair price with Clockwrkmage, and went to bed with visions of Glowing Brightwood Staff and Gorehowl dancing in my head. :)
I checked Clock’s mail before I took off for Christmas dinner, and she went from 7 gold in the bank to 115 gold overnight! I had also started selling off Essences of Undeath, because I only need 1 for the Goblin Death Ray. Times that by 9 for my entire account, but I still have a ton I don’t need. At around the 300 level, I can use them for Blacksmithing recipes, but with how I’m NOT powerleveling Blacksmithing with either of my accounts, I should be able to farm my own by then. I might as well sell some of them off, considering that I’ve gotten about 60-80 of them on each of my accounts.
